The ride started today with a tasty breakfast at K & T’s on Bettington Cafe in Merriwa. There was the smell of fresh bacon and eggs in the air as the riders approached the cafe. After enjoying the firendly service, we made our way to Merriwa Central School. The kids lined the footpaths to greet the riders and made them feel very welcome.
After judging the colouring competition, a bicycle safety talk and fire safety tips from the local RFS, the kids sang happy biurthday to David Munro, who turned 40 today. David is the Owner/Operator of McDonald’s Coffs Harbour South, Coffs Service Centre, Grafton and Grafton Foodcourt. Happy birthday Dave, now please ride 78km.
The road was fairly flat today, as you can see from the specs below.
The main issue today was the high volume of heavy vehicles and significant amount of potholes in the road surface. This didn’t deter Bling and Wilco from taking some opportune shots (note the elevation and colourful road imprint):
The riders arrived in Muswellbrook at 2pm and assembled at McDonald’s Muswellbrook before heading to the Baybrook Motor Inn for relaxing massages by Fiona Hartin and her team. Dave Munro went first. Happy 40th!
Tonight the riders attended a charity function hosted by Nick and Jenny Fellowes. An outstanding effort resulted in over $12,000 being raised tonight alone - thanks Nick, Jenny and all community members who attended, assisted and donated to this night! Well done! Thanks also to our entertaining auctioneers!

It is great to follow the website & see commentary & photos!! Fantastic job - Jobling! I also bet you didn’t expect Brad to come through after your bet at last year’s RMHC ball!! in Sydney.. (I don’t think he is regretting it much?)….I do have to wonder - what sort of bet’s he will make with people this year??? If I don’t gag him, I’m sure Rob will!
See you all on Saturday!! Cheering away, with the kids. Al
